The workplace is an important setting for mental health promotion and prevention of mental ill-health and suicide, given people spend one third of their day at work and work is generally good for our mental health.

A number of studies support investment in mental health workplace programs and have direct benefits in reducing absenteeism and improving worker productivity.

The Hunter Institute of Mental Health works with a range of organisations to improve their response to workplace mental health, including workplace health policy and program review, development of workplace mental health programs and policies, and implementation and delivery of workplace mental health initiatives.
