About Crystal

Crystal commenced work with the Hunter Institute of Mental Health in 2007 and holds the position of Communications Officer. She is currently completing an undergraduate Bachelor of Communication through Griffith University, and has extensive experience in business administration and event management and planning.

Prior to her current role, Crystal was employed as an Administration Officer and Communication Assistant for the Hunter Institute. Her knowledge and experience led to her promotion into the role of Communication Officer in 2011, where she now supports the Hunter Institute's management team and project staff.

As a Communication Officer, Crystal works with the Hunter Institute's Communications Lead in managing external communications and stakeholder and media relations, along with the management of events, logtics and the organisation's social media accounts and websites.

A few key achievements for Crystal over her career include: Development and launch of the Conversations Matter website and resources; Logistics management of the Young People, Social Media and Suicide Prevention round table; Organisation of several key national advisory group meetings and corporate events in a number of locations across Australia.

Crystal is passionate about developing respectful, positive relationships with stakeholders and staff, and communicating with people on a personal and professional level. She has particular interests in public relations and business communication which is reflected in her chosen field of study.
