Mental Health Research

One of the primary strategic goals of the Hunter Institute of Mental Health is to enhance both professional and community understanding of mental health through research.

We have a multidisciplinary team that allow us to undertake a wide variety of types of research, with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research.

The Hunter Institute are currently leading and/or partnering on mental health research in a wide variety of settings. Some of our current research activities focus mental health in Australian workplaces (e.g. mining, those in small business), education (e.g. early career teachers) and the portrayal of mental illness in Australian mass media.

The aim of our organisational research is to disseminate knowledge, and contribute to the evidence base for mental illness prevention.
